Instagram & Facebook Strategy Using Brand Mascot
Objective
The Illinois Broadcasters Association (IBA) had an underutilized Instagram account with low engagement and minimal connection to their in-person events. The goal was to bring personality and consistency to the platform using Airic, their pre-existing character mascot, as a central figure to build recognition, reinforce branding, and increase digital engagement.
What I Did
Took IBA’s mascot, Airic, and reimagined him for digital use across Instagram and Facebook.
Developed a consistent tone of voice—friendly, media-savvy, and approachable—to align with IBA’s mission and audience.
Results
Helped re-establish IBA’s identity across digital platforms in a way that felt fresh and relevant.
Improved overall engagement through playful, branded content resulting in a 20% increase in Instagram followers.
Revived engagement by integrating the “Airic” mascot across Instagram. Increased followers by 20% through custom illustration and tone-of-voice alignment.
